How Meme 500 works
What is $MEME500?
A memecoin on Solana whose creator fees buy a basket of the top 500 Solana memecoins. Instead of holding 500 positions yourself, you hold one token, and the basket grows in a public treasury wallet as $MEME500 trades.
Which coins are in the index?
The 500 largest coins by market cap in CoinGecko's Solana meme category. The list refreshes every minute on this site and the basket is rebalanced weekly: coins that drop out of the top 500 are sold back into the buy buffer.
How are weights set?
By market cap, with a 5% cap per coin so the biggest names don't swallow the basket. Weight above the cap is spread across the rest in proportion to their size.
Where do the fees go?
- 65% buys the basket.
- 15% buys back $MEME500 and burns it.
- 5% goes back to traders every 24 hours, split by how much each wallet traded that day. Claim it on the site.
- 15% funds operations and development.
How do you buy 500 coins without wasting fees?
Every fee claim adds to the SOL each coin is owed by its weight. As soon as the basket has enough for one minimum-size buy, it buys the coin furthest below its target, one at a time, so buying starts from the very first claim. Big coins are topped up constantly and the smallest ones in proper batches every few days. Swaps go through Jupiter with a slippage cap, and a coin is skipped (keeping what it's owed) if its liquidity is too thin or it fails safety checks.
How do I check it?
The treasury and dev wallets are published on the home page. Every buy and burn links to Solscan. The basket value is computed from on-chain balances times live prices.
Risks
$MEME500 is a memecoin, not an ETF, fund, or security. Holding it gives you no legal claim on the treasury and no redemption right. Its price can trade far above or below the basket's value, and memecoins can go to zero. Nothing here is financial advice.
